Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16, she had already secured a number of TV roles for instance, the lead in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's work has led her to be involved in a variety of notable international and national projects. They comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as well as French history mini-series Napoleon. Additionally, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
